Closing the Talk to Andres contest

I had a really good conversation on Skype with the two winners of our “Talk to Andres” contest that recently ended. We had asked fans to send me a question on entrepreneurship in Latin America, and we received almost a thousand replies. It was a great experience to be able to speak with these entrepreneurs about their companies, the challenges they’re facing, what they’ve achieved up to now, and to offer some ideas on how to grow their businesses. It was great to meet with fellow entrepreneurs at the Endeavor Entrepreneur Summit in San Francisco, hear their ideas and discuss how to take their companies to the next level. Helping people to be more competitive is something that drives our passion and efforts.

I’m very proud of our recent success at Open English. In April, we closed our fourth round of financing and raised $65 million, bringing our total investment funding to $120 million over the past three years. This is one of the largest investments ever made in Tech Ed history! We will be using use these funds to continue expanding our services and to make English accessible to even more people around the world.

For me, sharing knowledge is the best way to keep growing -- and to  support the efforts of other entrepreneurs. That’s why, whenever I get a chance, I like to speak with young entrepreneurs from Latin America. These young minds contribute to the dynamism we're seeing in the region today. They enjoy exchanging ideas about their projects and sometimes need guidance to take their initiatives to the next level.

Andres Moreno Speaks At RASU Fest 2012

I had the opportunity to speak at RASU Fest 2012, Chile's largest gathering of tech entrepreneurs and investors. Kudos to the RASU staff for shooting some incredible footage while I was on stage. I really enjoyed the event! I encourage entrepreneurs in the region to attend next year's event.
